International Condom Day 2021 is fast approaching (2/13)! While we normally gather together for celebrations across the globe, our 2021 events will look a little different this year. Keep your 👀 for more info to come! ⠀
⠀
Here are 2020 celebration photos from Eswatini, Malawi, Haiti, Cambodia and Perú to count you down to this year's event!⠀

We have all become very familiar in the last year with just how important testing is when trying to get a hold on a pandemic. We have seen just how out of control a disease can reach when it is being spread unknowingly.
According to the CDC approximately 1 in 7 individuals in the United States has HIV and doesn't know it, with a disproportionate impact on racial and ethnic minorities and gay and bisexual men.
HIV/AIDS may not be at the forefront of the conversation but is still a pandemic that reaches all parts of the globe. Make sure you do your part to protect yourself and your community by regularly getting tested.
We're 1 month away from International Condom Day 2021! In a weekly countdown for this year's festivities, we're looking back at how our events kicked off across the globe in 2020. ⠀
⠀
This week's featured countries: Rwanda, Zambia, Georgia and Sierra Leone.⠀
We might be slightly biased, but we have the pleasure of working with some of the finest pharmacists in the country at our AHF Pharmacies.
Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing your knowledge, expertise and compassion as well as always going above and beyond for our patients. You are truly appreciated. Happy National Pharmacist Day!
AHF is proud to announce that we now have 1.5 million lives in our care. We are honored to be trusted with 1.5 million lives around the world and will never stop working towards putting an end to this epidemic. ⠀
⠀
Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years. We are humbled by your commitment and dedication to this cause. ⠀
In 2020, nationwide lockdowns left thousands of people living with HIV wondering where their next meal might come from, since many lost their jobs and food markets and vendors closed. AHF teams across Africa saw this and acted fast, distributing over 12,000 food parcels throughout 11 countries. ⠀
⠀
"We had many clients who were very hungry which often caused them to refuse taking their ART on an empty stomach,"" said Emile Musabyimana, Head of Remera Health Center in Kigali, Rwanda. ""But now with this food support from AHF, I’m sure they are going to adhere to treatment as they normally do. We thank AHF very much for this support and how it has been supporting our health center, especially during this lockdown period in terms of transportation, personal protective equipment, and as always, technical support.""⠀
⠀
We can’t wait to see what our teams do in 2021!⠀

@officialtlc out of Atlanta, GA are known for their hits "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "Creep" and "Waterfalls" but the 1990s R&B trio are also known for their outspoken support of female empowerment and safe sex messaging, told through their music, pop culture and fashion trends. ⠀

TLC came to rise at a time when the world was being overwhelmed with the AIDS epidemic, and they thought that they should use their platform to encourage their followers to feel open to talk about sex and engage in safe sex. It was Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes who started pinning condoms to her oversized clothing to call attention to the topic, with T-Boz and Chilli immediately following suit. ⠀
⠀
In an interview given to the Los Angeles Times on April 26, 1992 they said, “Kids listen to performers and we have a duty to give them certain critical information. We wanted something eye-catching, so when kids see the condoms, they ask why do we wear condoms and talk about condoms? That brings up the issue of safe sex. The point is to make condoms something kids aren’t afraid of or ashamed of.”⠀
⠀
We salute the women of TLC on this special edition of #tbt for the attention and conversations they've held space for in the fight against HIV & AIDS.⠀
